Currently, astronauts returning from space, but aren’t medically cleared yet to drive, must either get written approval from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Administrator to allow NASA to transport them or find an alternate means of transportation for medical appointments and other post-flight activities until medically cleared.
