The Subcommittee on Surface Transportation and Merchant Marine Infrastructure, Safety and Security will convene a hearing on Electronic On-Board Recorders (EOBRs) and Truck Driver Fatigue. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) recently issued a proposed rule on the use of EOBRs to ensure compliance with truck driver hours-of-service (HOS) regulations. The Subcommittee will receive testimony on this proposed rule from the FMCSA, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), safety and insurance professionals, and the motor carrier industry.
