Cantwell Opening Remarks at Nomination Hearing for NTSB Chair Homendy

U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), Chair of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, delivered the following opening remarks at today’s nomination hearing for Jennifer Homendy to serve another term as Chair of the National Transportation Safety Board and Patrick Fuchs as a Member of the Surface Transportation Board. Cantwell Applauds Senate Confirmation of FTC Commissioners

Tonight, the U.S. Senate unanimously voted to confirm Rebecca Slaughter, Melissa Holyoak and Andrew Ferguson to serve as Commissioners on the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Cantwell-Led Committee Sends FAA Administrator to Full Senate with Unanimous Approval

Today, the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, chaired by U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), voted to advance several presidential nominations to the full Senate with strong bipartisan support, including unanimous approval of Michael Whitaker to serve as Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration. The Committee also advanced nominations for the Federal Trade Commission, Consumer Product Safety Commission, Amtrak Board of Directors as well as Coast Guard promotions.

Today, the U.S. Senate voted 55-43 to confirm Anna Gomez, President Biden’s nominee to be a Commissioner on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), Chair of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, applauded her confirmation to be the fifth Commissioner, completing the Commission and unlocking the years-long 2-2 deadlock.
