Chairman Cruz Releases Budget Reconciliation Text
June 5, 2025
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, unveiled his legislative directives for Senate Republicans’ budget reconciliation bill. The Commerce Committee’s reconciliation language will reduce deficits by more than $40 billion over a decade, rescind more than $1.4 billion in wasteful spending, revitalize the American economy, improve the nation’s transportation infrastructure, strengthen national security, and bolster domestic innovation and manufacturing.
“The Commerce Committee section invests in bold and transformational policies that will positively impact Americans now and for generations to come,” said Sen. Cruz. “Senate Republicans are fixing the aging air traffic control system, rebuilding the Coast Guard to secure our maritime border against deadly drugs and illegal immigration, ensuring the U.S. – not China – gets to Mars and gets back to the Moon first, and turbocharging economic activity with expanded commercial access to spectrum. These provisions fulfill the mandate given to President Trump and Congressional Republicans by the voters: to unleash America’s full economic potential and keep her safe from enemies.”
