WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), chairman of the Surface Transportation and Merchant Marine Infrastructure, Safety, and Security Subcommittee, will convene a hearing entitled “Pipeline Safety: Oversight of Our Nation’s Pipeline Network” on Tuesday, September 29th at 2:30 p.m.
“America’s pipelines move critical energy resources to homes and businesses across Nebraska and throughout the country,” Sen. Fischer said. “While our pipelines have been lauded as the safest way to transport energy, Congress must continue robust oversight over this important network. I am pleased to continue this discussion, and I look forward to hearing from industry stakeholders about best practices and the challenges we face."
In advance of Committee consideration of pipeline safety legislation, this is the Committee's second hearing to examine current challenges with the inspection and safe management of our nation’s pipeline network.
