Senate Committee Approves Gardner’s 9-8-8 Suicide Hotline Bill
Today the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation passed U.S. Senator Cory Gardner’s (R-CO) bipartisan bill to designate 9-8-8 as the national suicide prevention and mental health crisis hotline.

Fischer, Smith Introduce Bicameral Legislation to Bring Local Television Programming to Western Nebraska Counties
U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), a member of the Senate Commerce Committee, and U.S. Representative Adrian Smith (R-Neb.) today introduced the Western Expanded In-State Television (WEST) Access Act in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, to ensure that satellite subscribers in 16 western Nebraska “orphan counties” — those assigned to Designated Market Areas (DMAs) based in other states — can access in-state broadcast programming.

NASA Reauthorization Clears Senate Commerce Committee, Includes Gardner Provisions
U.S. Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO), a member of the Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Aviation and Space, released the following statement today on the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee’s passage of the bipartisan NASA Authorization Act of 2019 (S. 2800). The bill, which Gardner supported and worked to secure several provisions in, authorizes National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) operations.
