WASHINGTON, D.C. — Chairman John D. (Jay) Rockefeller IV issued the following statement today after the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation approved the nominations of Mayor Anthony Foxx, to be Secretary of
Transportation, and Ms. Penny Pritzker, to be Secretary of Commerce. The votes for Mayor Foxx and Ms. Pritzker were unanimous.

“Mayor Foxx and Ms. Pritzker are two excellent nominees for key administration posts.
There has been strong bipartisan support for these nominees, and it was evident again today when they were both voted unanimously out of the Commerce Committee. I urge my colleagues to act quickly now to schedule votes on their nominations.”
