Commerce Committee Nominations Confirmed by Senate

Feature Image: Capitol 1WASHINGTON, D.C.—The following nominations considered by the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation were confirmed last night by the U.S. Senate:

  • Mr. Michael P. Huerta, to be Administrator, Federal Aviation Administration
  • Mr. William P. Doyle, to be Commissioner, Federal Maritime Commission

 

“I am pleased that the Senate has finally confirmed Michael Huerta as the FAA Administrator,” said Chairman John D. (Jay) Rockefeller IV.  “The FAA needs a strong leader at the helm and Administrator Huerta will provide the leadership needed to modernize air transportation and make certain it continues to function at the highest levels of safety.”

 

The following nominations were discharged from the Committee and confirmed by the Senate:

  • Dr. Mark Doms, to be Under Secretary of Commerce for Economic Affairs, Department of Commerce 
  • Ms. Polly Ellen Trottenberg, to be Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy, Department of Transportation
  • Ms. Mignon L. Clyburn, to be a Commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (reappointment)
  • Dr. Joshua D. Wright, to be a Commissioner at the Federal Trade Commission
  • Mr. Christopher R. Beall, to be a Director on the Amtrak Board of Directors 
  • Ms. Yvonne B. Burke, to be a Director on the Amtrak Board of Directors
  • Nominations for Promotion in the U.S. Coast Guard
