Rockefeller Tells Hyundai and Kia to Make Sure Consumers Are Compensated For False Fuel Economy Promise

JDR waving reportWASHINGTON, D.C.— Chairman John D. (Jay) Rockefeller IV today sent a letter to the CEOs of Hyundai and Kia regarding their overstatement of the fuel economy ratings of approximately 900,000 vehicles.  Rockefeller is concerned that many affected consumers may not fully participate in the reimbursement program that Hyundai and Kia have voluntarily undertaken and will continue to monitor ongoing federal investigations.
