Commerce Committee Approves Nominations to Key Science and Transportation Posts

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation today approved the following nominations:

  • Nomination of Dr. Kathryn D. Sullivan, to be Assistant Secretary of Commerce (Observation and Prediction) at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (PN 53)
  • Nomination of Dr. Frances M.D. Gulland to be a Member of the Marine Mammal Center (PN 54) 
  • Nomination of Ms. Ann D. Begeman, to be a Member of the Surface Transportation Board (PN 55) 
  • Nomination of Mr. Mario Cordero, to be a Federal Maritime Commissioner (PN 99)
  • Nomination of Mr. Philip E. Coyle, III, to be an Associate Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (PN 100)
  • Nomination of Ms. Rebecca F. Dye, to be a Federal Maritime Commissioner (Reappointment) (PN 102)
  • Nominations for Promotion in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Corps (PN 160, PN 161, PN 301 and PN 338)
