Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), Ranking Member on the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, released the following statement today on the withdrawal of Erroll Southers as the nominee to head the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

The American traveling public demands a qualified candidate who can be swiftly confirmed in a bipartisan manner, and Mr. Southers' nomination ultimately presented some serious concerns."
