Committee Announces Nominations Hearing
U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., chairman of the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, will convene a nominations hearing on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 to consider presidential nominations to the National Transportation Safety Board, Federal Maritime Commission, Amtrak Board of Directors, Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Department of Commerce. The hearing will immediately follow the executive session in Hart Senate Office Building 216.

Subcommittee to Hold Hearing on Waterfronts
U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner, R-Colo., chairman of the Subcommittee on Science, Oceans, Fisheries, and Weather, will convene a hearing titled, “America’s Waterfronts: Addressing Economic, Recreational, and Environmental Challenges,” at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2019. This hearing will focus on the current state of our working waterfronts, how we can balance stakeholder needs, and maximize the benefits from our water and coastal resources. Witnesses will also discuss the current challenges, highlight management and development successes, and provide suggestions on how our waterfronts could be further improved.

Committee Announces Hearing on Deep Space Exploration
U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., chairman of the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, will convene a hearing titled, “Moon to Mars: NASA’s Plans for Deep Space Exploration,” at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. This hearing will examine the future of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) human spaceflight program. Witnesses will discuss NASA’s plans for the Artemis Program and returning U.S. astronauts to the lunar surface by 2024. The hearing will also highlight policy, regulatory, or technological challenges the agency faces in their efforts to achieve that goal.

Committee Advances FAA Administrator Nomination to Full Senate
